Oliver + S, Little Things To Sew… or Buy

Liesl Gibson, the incredibly creative designer behind the Oliver + S line of children’s clothing patterns has recently released her first book. Oliver + S Little Things to Sew: 20 Classic Accessories and Toys for Children is a collection of sewing patterns focused on classic styling with contemporary appeal. The Oliver + S line of sewing patterns is known for its clear, step by step instructions, which appeal to beginner and experienced sewers alike. After graduating from New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology, Liesl Gibson, founder and creative director of Oliver + S, worked as a designer for Tommy Hilfiger and Ralph Lauren.

While many sewers already know about Liesl’s great patterns, non-sewers can appreciate this truly lovely children’s clothing line in two ways:

  • Purchase the book as a gift for your mom, grandmother or aunt who sews, and give the gift that keeps giving – stylish, heirloom quality, made by hand, clothing and toys for your children.
  • Purchase ready-made Oliver + S from boutique stores that will produce made to order clothing based on Oliver + S patterns. You can even give feedback on the fabric you want the boutique to use on your custom orders.

CD Tip: Check out the Oliver + S website to see the full line of patterns and fabric and read Liesl’s blog. For more unique gift ideas for your favorite sewer, read our post on Maison Sajou.
