What Is Tilda?
One of the most popular and recognized craft brands in Europe.
Introducing, The World of Tilda
In 1999, Norwegian designer Tone Finnanger started a line of craft products named Tilda. Tone wanted to find a way to make a living doing the things she loved – creating dolls, scenery and using her graphic design and art background. Her first products were angel like doll kits and accessories. At the time she launched Tilda, Tone was 25 years old.
Though little know in the US, in the last decade, Tilda has become a phenomenon across the pond. There are many websites and blogs dedicated to Tilda crafting.
The Tilda line has over 500 products including ribbons, fabric, doll kits and doll accessories, scrapbooking supplies, buttons and much more. Tone has also written books in many languages. Her newest English book, Tilda’s Studio: Over 50 fresh projects for you, your home and loved ones has just been released. Most of Tone’s english books are available in the U.S. However, her craft line is still only available in Europe. Many products can be ordered from craft stores in the UK and Europe and shipped to the U.S.
