No Sew DIY Felt Ipad Sleeve

We’ve created this beautiful, easy, no sew Ipad case using thick woolfelt and grommets. Learn to make the basic sleeve, then leave as is or decorate. Get started by reading an article Marla wrote about crafting with felt. Order some woolfelt, buy some gromments and you’re all set. CD Note: Make this slightly larger and it will fit any laptop.

Make a No Sew Felt Ipad or Laptop Sleeve

Materials Needed:

Thick (3mm) Woolfelt
1/4″ Grommet Kit (Use 6 grommets)
Ruler or measuring Tape
Pins
Fabric Marker
Hammer
Scissors

Instructions:

Measure your felt so it is approximately 3/4″ longer on each side than your Ipad case or laptop. For an Ipad, your felt should be approximately 15 1/2 long x 11 3/4 wide.
Cut out your felt using a sharp fabric scissor.
Fold felt in half and pin together. Evenly space 3 grommets on one side. Start by measuring at least 1/2 ” to 3/4″ from the top of the felt and 1/2″ from the side. Mark this spot with your fabric marker. Next mark the bottom with the same exact measurements from the bottom and side. Now mark the “middle” hole directly between the mark for the top and bottom hole.

Place Grommet
Push Grommet through hole created by cutting tool.
Place washer on top.
Hammer Grommet into place.
Repeat placing gromments in all 3 previously marked places.
Fold felt in half.
Mark 3 more grommet places on the other side but putting marking pen through the middle of your gromments onto the felt on the other side.
Place in 3 more grommets.
